| Placencia is a small village situated at the tip of the Peninsula in the Stann Creek Region of Belize . The village centers around the 3 mile sidewalk that begins at the fishing dock and runs throughout the town. Placencia Village is the hub of the Peninsula, where most of the local restaurants, bars, gift shops, banks, the main dock, grocery stores and other services are located.
Placencia Village offers a good range of lodging options, from rooms with shared baths, to cabanas on the beach with efficiency kitchens, to very nice two-bedroom air-conditioned apartments, beach houses and luxury villas.
People who stay in Placencia Village proper tend to want to get to know Belizeans on a more personal level and to have the convenience of being able to walk to grocery stores, restaurants, the dock, etc.
